My favorite sort of puzzles are those with no instructions, since such puzzles are very much like doing science. So without any further instructions, here is today’s puzzle:
I dreamed of these diagrams last week, in the middle of the night, much like Kekulé dreaming of the Ouroboros. I’m hoping a reader can explain them to me! (Spoilers will be edited.)
Difficult… the first one is a distorted pentagon with a an appendix or satellite… A representation of a molecule? Something similar to pentose?
Not quite…the answers(s) don’t necessarily have anything to do with physics…in dreaming these up (literally) the images appeared to me in their entirety, and to my sleep-addled brain the “answers” seemed obvious, almost trivial…I was curious to see whether anyone else could “get it”…I can give clues if you like. I will say that if you get one you’ll get the other.
On the surface it looks like a kind of puzzle where the solver must determine at what point you must start to draw the picture without lifting the pencil from the paper. This one has the added twist of needing to follow the arrow directions. I have not yet figured out the second figure, or determined if it even possible given the starting parameters, but do not want to spend any more time on this if I am way off base…..
Simpler than that. There are two clues hidden on the page.
References to Kekule imply benzene…are they chemical structures? do the number of dot represent atoms or the arrows electron activity?
Clues are elsewhere…think outside the box…
This website was… how do you say it? Relevant!!
Finally I have found something that helped me. Kudos!
